MN: Kalulu a symbol of Milan’s project – what filters is that he has room for growth

By Oliver Fisher -

One man who has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence because of the current injury crisis is defender Pierre Kalulu, who now has three appearances for Milan.

As MilanNews notes, Kalulu seems to have understood that he has the necessary qualities to be a Milan player and is not here merely by chance, with the Frenchman having shown excellent qualities so far also areas to improve.

For a Milan in injury crisis, the Kalulu solution was an obligatory choice but the transfer market operation that brought him to Milan from Lyon was the result of the work and analysis of the Rossoneri scouting.

Before the match with Sparta Prague, Kalulu had not played even a minute for the club in competitive action, while he now has three appearances and 265 minutes overall. A determining factor in this sense were the heavy absences of Gabbia and Kjaer, but Kalulu was ready to step up.

He is a player who must, without a doubt, improve in the defensive phase. The reassuring factor is that from Milanello and from those who have been able to observe him carefully, the player has the qualities to do so.

The data of his first matches in Serie A show 8 duels won and 16 balls recovered in just 175 minutes. For a player who is a natural full-back, adapting to a central role has not been and is not easy, but alongside players like Kjaer and Romagnoli and above all with the experience of the minutes on the pitch, he is getting there.

Young, high potential but immediately ready to wear the Rossoneri shirt: Pierre Kalulu is probably the perfect symbol of Milan’s vision.
