MN: Krunic will have medical tests on Monday to determine injury details

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan midfielder Rade Krunic is set to have medical tests on Monday which will provide more details about the injury he sustained against Verona, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, the Bosnian midfielder could be facing a spell on the sidelines but the club still needs to learn about his condition.

He was taken off in the second half against Verona with what seemed to be a muscular problem and after the match, Stefano Pioli seemed pretty pessimistic about the situation.

“Unfortunately, I think he has a muscle problem. He felt something in his flexor so there was definitely something there. I can’t know the extent and I think it will be difficult to see him in the next matches, but we have other characteristics and players available,” he said.

He will be undergoing examinations on Monday at Milanello and that is when there will be a clearer update on just how long Milan have to do without the former Empoli man who has become a very important part of Pioli’s system.

Milan won the game 1-0 thanks to a goal in the eighth minute from Rafael Leao.

  1. Should have rested him, I think. It wasn’t a good start from the beginning. Delayed match, playing on a wet pitch, hefty schedule, all took a toll on their bodies. I just hope he is back for the Dortmund game because at the moment he is our most consistent midfielder.

  2. He could have rested him, he has played every single minute despite we have a large squad to choose from but unfortunately now he will be forced to give other players chances.
I hope it’s not long term tho because we need everyone available atleast until Bennacer comes back

  3. Once again Pioli failed to rest a player BEFORE he gets injured. Krunic had played every single minute this season. This was bound to happen sooner or later. Maybe – just maybe – Pioli learns from his mistakes at least once a season and now gives Giroud & others rest before they get sidelined as well.

    1. Pioli isn’t a good manager, from the closing stages of the Newcastle game Krunic was already holding his thighs and I knew there was a problem already. For Pioli to start him from minute one and almost make him play 90mins again is just pure foolishness. Reijnders is almost a ghost of himself thanks to Pioli.

  4. Pretty much called this. He ran the most of all players since the start of the season. He was most likely to suffer an injury due to fatigue. This is on Pioli. He has the squad he wants and the “depth” he wanted. Could have rested him, Leao (who almost got injured too) and Giroud. Look at how fresh RLC looked when he came on

  5. I really hope that Bennacer will recover in time. So that we can rotate the mid properly. I don’t get why Pioli never trust adli

      1. NAH, you want us to battle relegation. The only managers I want us to get if we are looking for a cheap but winning manager would be Arne Slot or Adi Hutter. Christophe Galtier is also available, so you have many options to choose from. But the most ideal one would be Abate, if he wins some major trophy this season.

  6. Pioli had it coming with his damn obsession to play Krunic every single minute as if he was the cornerstone of the team. Hopefully we get to see Adli, RLC or Reijnders covering the spot. If it goes to Pobega I think I might miss Krunic for the first time ever.

  7. We’re about to find out exactly how important Krunic is. At least the Adli diehards may finally get to see their man, if only as a sub for Musah or Pobega.
