AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is expected to miss out on facing Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League this week, a report suggests.
As has been reported by Milan News, the Rossoneri took to the pitch at Milanello on Tuesday morning as they continue to prepare for Wednesday night’s match against PSG.
It was clear that Loftus-Cheek was not in the core group of players participating, which suggests he has not recovered in time from his injury which also kept him out against Juventus at the weekend.
Noah Okafor and Davide Bartesaghi were also seen training separately from the group, hinting at fitness issues for them.
It remains to be seen if they will both return to the group later in the day, but right now, Loftus-Cheek looks unlikely to be heading to Paris with the rest of the team.
Milan have two draws in the Champions League so far this season.
So both Bartesaghi and Okafor injured. I guess Pioli wasn’t fibbing after all. Something needs to change. Not sure if it’s training methods or the physios but something needs a change.
It’s not about training methods or the physios but the schedule are too busy between the league and international friendly matches.
Okafor got injured when he got called for national team. The same with Bartesaghi.
I’d have to disagree with this. We had players playing every three days during the 2000s. Contrary to what articles come out or what people write in the comments section, I’ve been around long enough to know big teams play every 3 days and then have their players play intl matches (the difference could be that now the matches are actually competitive). It’s no big difference from times of old. It has to do with the medical team after the old Milan Lab doctor left, the medical team incl the physios (the corrective exercises for instance) or the training grounds (my guess is when they moved to the hybrid turf/grass fields around late 2000s).
27-year old Loftus-Cheek was well-known for being injury-prone in Chelsea.
Why did the current management team bought him is beyond me.
