By Oliver Fisher -

One of the legacies from the 2020-21 campaign – even if no trophy arrives – is that the value of the squad has increased dramatically.

MilanNews have taken a look at the ‘first choice’ starting XI of the current squad based on their Transfermarkt valuations and has calculated just how much the Rossoneri’s squad has increased in worth.

Starting with the midfield duo Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie, the former was bought for €16.5m and now has a value of €40m while the latter was bought for €24m from Atalanta, with a current valuation of €50m.

Even with his contract expiring, Transfermarkt have Calhanoglu as a €35m player meaning his value has gone up €20.5m compared to the Pre-Pioli period. Ante Rebic was bought outright for €5m and now he is worth €32m. Alexis Saelemaekers cost €3.75m and there has been a decisive surge in his price tag to €18m.

Here are the 11 starters…

Donnarumma: From €49.5m to €60m = +€10m

Calabria: From €9.5m to €25m = +€15.5m
Kjaer: Purchased for €3.5m, current value €10m = +€6.5m
