MN: Milan a €642m commitment for Elliott – no buyer as club valuation is almost €1bn

By Oliver Fisher -

Elliott Management Corporation look set to remain as owners of AC Milan for a few more years yet, according to one journalist.

As Franco Ordine writes in his latest for MilanNews, Elliott so far have committed around €770million to Milan between the purchase of shares, debt cancellation and general financing.

Payments made by the American fund in 2020 amounted to €470.25m and to that the €300m loaned to Yonghong Li must be added, but the €128m in bonds used by Fassone and Mirabelli for the 2017 summer window must be subtracted.

That means that Milan have cost Elliott a huge €642.25m and they are expected to invest many more millions to keep the club perfectly healthy as we navigate the COVID-19 crisis.

The news is that no buyer has shown up and that the valuation for Elliott to resell the club is getting closer and closer to €1billion, meaning they will remain the owner of Milan for a long time.
