AC Milan intend to improve their squad in January and they have the idea of strengthening the midfielder department, according to a report.
As MilanNews reports, the Rossoneri management have repeatedly said it is ready to seize any market opportunities, and all departments are under observation.
The priority remains a reinforcement in the defensive department but an additional midfielder would also serve Pioli well given that Bennacer, Kessie and perhaps Tonali will be missing against Lazio, showing that the team are never far away from being in difficulty.
In particular, an alternative to Franck Kessie would be important in view of the second half of the season when they will continue to play every three days and the risk of injury or suspension is always high.
Among the profiles the club are looking at is Boubakary Soumaré of Lille, a midfielder that the management were pursuing in the summer together with Bakayoko.
The asking price for the 21-year-old Frenchman is high, while Milan continue to enquire but the operation is complicated from an economic point of view. Other profiles with similar characteristics are studied, namely young players with qualities that can improve the department.
