MN: Milan defining final details on €15m deal for Chelsea’s Loftus-Cheek

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are defining the final details on a €15 million deal for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek after making a major breakthrough in the negotiation, a report claims.

As has been reported by Antonio Vitiello from Milan News on Twitter, Loftus-Cheek now looks very close to joining Milan in the coming days.

The talks have been ongoing on Monday and it seems that a €15 million agreement has been found between the two clubs, despite other reports suggesting that it will take around €25m for Chelsea to sell the English midfielder.

Chelsea are keen to get plenty of players off of the books as they seek to ensure they stay within Financial Fair Play regulations. This may have helped Milan when negotiating the signing of Loftus-Cheek.

There were recent fears that Loftus-Cheek would not join Milan given he was a target for Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. After a period of quiet, Milan may now have gotten the deal done.

  1. Good player for BACKUP. Lets just hope that SMS will come, cause we are screwed if Loftus Cheek is going to be our starter CM.
And mark my words, Frattesi isnt coming, Inter will probably offer him 100k better wage and will lose him to inter as we did with Thuram

    1. Frattesi is just a name throwing out from the Newspapers but AC Milan never considered him. Didn’t you read the Sassuolo’s director said? Don’t believe everything that you read about Milan’s or other clubs because most of them are just imagination from journalists to keep feeding their readers or listeners

      1. Milan did approach his agent (he explicitly said that too). And that showed interest and consideration. Maybe not so much after they knew the player’s intention. So the interest didn’t get to the higher level of hierarchy.

      2. Beppe Rizzo said after meeting with Milan that he was there for Frattesi when the Tonali deal was developing. So I’m sure they discussed it.

  2. Something doesn’t make sense with the Loftus- Cheek and Guler interests. I believe we can only register one more Non-EU player since we are bringing in Kamada who will take one of those spots or if we get rid of Devin Vazquez we can use his Non-EU spot for either Cheek or Guler?

    1. Both Messias and Ballo Touré are also non-EU and might be on their way out. But I’m with you that the rule isn’t clear to me and I’m not sure how many non-EU players we can sign.

    2. SMS would also occupy non EU slot so we can already exclude him from list of potential signings. There are reports Milan want to offload Vazquez and Messias.

    3. No. They signed Vasquez to retain the second Non EU spot otherwise they would have lost it. Now they plan on offloading Vasquez to be able to use both slots. The way I understood it.

  3. Looks like we’re gonna get him after all. This will put another brick of fact that Maldini’s dismissal was not about technical decision.

And personally, I feel that RLC will give us good hands. He’s solid. And also I said if he costed us less than 20 mil, it’d be great. The only sad thing is that we can get him, and Kamada, without needing to lose Maldini (back to 1st paragraph) and Tonali.

  4. Frattesi is just a name throwing out from the Newspapers but AC Milan never considered him. Didn’t you read the Sassuolo’s director said? Don’t believe everything that you read about Milan’s or other clubs because most of them are just imagination from journalists to keep feeding their readers or listeners

  5. RLC is the Origi of the midfield, you heard it here. No prem club has wanted him and he’s not been near the England team…this guy isn’t even on the same planet as Sandro

    1. Only 10 appearances for England so, near enough. He’s not the answer to our problems but maybe Serie A will suit him and he is hardworking and strong so a decent back-up

    1. For 15 mil, who do you expect? It’s on everyday basis that we see news about a player we never heard of before valued at 30 mil like an easy cake. And his market value is still 25 mil.

Should be decent deal if we can get him < 20 mil.

  6. Frattesi is not worth 40 millions and he wouldn’t suit Pioli’s 4231. I am however irritated about lack of homegrown and Italy NT players in our team. That’s just shameful for a club that used to form the core of Italy national footbal team.

  7. 15M€ for a back up isnt a bad deal.. I recon the dude is hungry to do well and get called up for national team 2.

    1. Sadly even English fringe players do well in Italy… Just our reality. He doesn’t even need to score. Just needs to be a wall!

    2. it’s a loan deal, an extra 10 will be required if they want to buy him buhahahahahahhaha you can;t make this stuff up !!

      1. loan? how will you loan a player that has a contract until 2024?
I mean yeah, that would be ideal. Loan him and then he joins on free in 2024

      2. “it’s a loan deal, an extra 10 will be required if they want to buy him buhahahahahahhaha you can;t make this stuff up !!”

Apparently you can. And you did.

  8. This deal isn’t so bad at 15m and if he can stay healthy he can do well at milan. But we still need two quality midfielders. Frattesi for 40m is a little ridiculous so let him go to inter. We can buy much better players for that money. But they better bring in good players to strengthen the starting lineup. Florentine Luis is a good start.

  9. Price of Ruben Loftus-Cheek to Milan expected to be circa €15m. Loan with obligation to buy.

Great job Furlani 15M loan with an option of an extra 10M to buy.

    Seriously though !!! WT Actual F !!!

  10. Wow…. this is disgusting. From Tonali to loftus cheek. This Milan doesn’t even resemble AC Milan anymore. Traded boyhood milan fan and future talisman for an older bench player. Awesome..

  11. Surely Amrabat would be better? We need a nailed on starter (actually.. we need two) so even if the Moroccan is more expensive we f*cking sold Tonali for around 70mn???

Signing 5 backups doesn’t help if you don’t have 11 starters. Or let me guess… Gerry doesn’t know there’s 11 players in a Soccerball team

  12. Good signing for 16M. We have owners who won’t spend $$ so what can we do. We aren’t spending 35-40M on a DM or any other player for that matter. IF (and it’s a huge IF) he stays healthy 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 it’s a solid signing for DM

    RLC…..wait, wasn’t this a M&M operation – him and Kamada???? LMAO!!!

So let me get this straight. Redbird fires Maldini because they are not happy with the way the transfers are going – then – signs the EXACT SAME PLAYERS M&M wanted???????

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! FOOKING Shambolic!!!!

This is the best Furlani can do? SELL Tonali and sign the players M&M wanted to signs and ALREADY NEGOTIATED THE DEALS FOR???????

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry LOL. This $hit gets better and better each day

Where is that REDBIRD Sheep lover @Pioli at????? hahahahahahahaha!!!

  13. Why milan always push this benchwarmer? Haha.. coz he price is cheap ? Haha.. no history england player can settle up in italia. Milan should sign muscle midfielder like Kessie / wanyama.

  14. Terrible waste of money, 20m with add ons. Injury Prone and never a sure starter for even a single season. If he’s tonali replacement milan are doomed if he’s a bench player then there are cheaper better options

  15. BUT WHY? WHY???
In order to fill in our non-EU slots, and then beeing unable to sign Chukweze, Guller, or any other interesting and more useful player?
