MN: Milan have two Bakayoko alternatives in mind with talks over €40m deal ongoing

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have two alternative targets in mind for if they fail to secure a return for Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer, a report claims.

MilanNews reporter Anto Vitiello stated in his latest editorial that Milan are dreaming of uniting Bakayoko and Ismael Bennacer in the midfield ahead of next season, however it depends on a couple of factors – mainly the potential cost of the operation.

The report goes on to state that there are two player that the Rossoneri are monitoring for if the Frenchman’s return is not possible. Florentino Luis seems to be one of the main suspects, and dialogues with Benfica have been open since January.

Work is being done on a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy but that figure is yet to be determined, though the Portuguese club are currently demanding it be €40million.

Marc Roca of Espanyol is also being monitored even though he is a player with different characteristics being a playmaker.

Vitiello adds that Thiago Silva seems to be a complicated operation for the Rossoneri due to the principles of the Elliott strategy, which is to focus on young players with potential, plus he earns €10m-a-year in Paris. However, there are always exceptions as seen with Ibrahimovic in January.
