AC Milan have resumed contacts with the entourage of Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer on Monday, according to a report.
Stefano Pioli’s favoured target to reinforce the defender has always been Nikola Milenkovic, at least as per most major sources, but the exorbitant demands of Fiorentina (around €35-40m) mean the operation is not easy.
Therefore, confirmations have arrived on Kristoffer Ajer, who would seemingly be a lot easier to sign for the Rossoneri as Celtic have apparently opened to the idea of a loan with view to a permanent deal.
According to what is being reported by MilanNews, on Monday there were new contacts between the Rossoneri management and Ajer’s representatives. Milan wanted to speak to his entourage to keep updated on the situation.
The defender represents one of the alternatives to reinforce the rearguard, with Milenkovic still the priority target. Meanwhile, the likes of Wesley Fofana from Saint-Etienne and Jean-Clair Todibo of Barcelona also continue to be linked.
