MN: Milan maintain interest in Empoli youngster who could cost €15-20m

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are still very interested in Empoli youngster Tommaso Baldanzi and a move in the near future is very possible, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, the Rossoneri’s interest in the Italian youngster is certainly not fresh news. He has been viewed as a potential replacement for Brahim Diaz should the Spaniard leave the club and head back to Real Madrid.

Given that currently looks very likely to happen, Milan’s interest in Baldanzi should probably be taken even more seriously.

It is believed that Empoli would demand a fee in the region of €15-20 million for the Italian who has been their best player this season.

Baldanzi is currently engaged with the Italy U20 team in Argentina at the World Cup and he has helped the Azzurrini reach the final of the tournament.

Milan will be watching closely and could make their move after the tournament has come to a close.

    1. more like sacrificing CKD +28-35 and getting Baldanzi – 15-20 and let him grow in Kamada’s shadow until he overtakes him

      1. Kamada is a free agent.. None of Sanches nor Botman, were free agents! It seems that Kamada’s agents are, doing some bureaucratic work, before they can get the deal done.. So nothing, to worry!

      1. No doubt about it. We need quality and depth. Diaz is leaving meaning meaning we need at least to new players who can play on the wings, another centre forward , kamada(or a playmaker who helps with defense and also a midfielder . My dream purchases(yes ,dream I know):
CF David(trade with De ketelaere + cash)
        RW Chukuwueze
        L/R W Baldanzi
        OMF Kamada
        CM Fofana

  1. Is Pioli going to play him though? Or is he going to stick Krunic there…

I’d love to sign him, but we need the experience too. SMS is a game changer for us.

It also worries me how the management are saying they will invest to remain ‘competitive’

We don’t want competitive, we want to be challenging or winning. Competitive means there or there abouts

  2. Daniel Maldini is a better prospect than this guy.

Has all of the technical ability but he’s 6’3, quick and physical.

If we’re in the Moncada era, I don’t believe Moncada would prioritise Baldanzi. He clearly has a preference for quick, powerful players.

This looks to me to be a Furlani Championship Manager special.

  3. Can’t help but to see similarities with Brahim. The physicality, how he dribbles. If Brahim always get bullied on Pioli’s team play, I can’t see a different thing will happen to him.

If we decided to sell CdK, then getting him as a depth with Kamada will be good. Or get him and move CdK to different post and role (which is very unlikely knowing Pioli).
