MN: Milan make decision on who will replace Pioli and Murelli on the bench vs. Napoli

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be led by former defender and first team coach Daniele Bonera for Sunday’s trip to face Napoli at the San Paolo.

Milan just cannot catch a break at the moment with regards to the Coronavirus, it seems. After the club confirmed over the weekend that head coach Stefano Pioli has tested positive, the man who was meant to take his spot on the bench – his assistant and good friend Giacomo Murelli – has also contracted the virus.

According to MilanNews, Milan have decided that Bonera will be the substitute for Pioli and Murelli for the match against Napoli. The former defender obtained his UEFA Pro license at Coverciano in September, which allows him to lead Serie A teams.

Bonera will work with Lucarelli and the other match analysts and will be instructed by Pioli who will bark his orders from home and will be linked up via technology.
