The season so far has demonstrated two weaknesses in the AC Milan squad that the management may seek to try and rectify in January, a report claims.
Pietro Mazzara writes in his column for MilanNews that Ciprian Tatarusanu’s weaknesses keep being exposed because the defensive unit are not used to having a goalkeeper behind them who essentially players planted on the goal line.

In addition, his overall ability is very limited as he seems to be late in reacting to certain moments of danger and the two goals last night are a very clear picture of it.
While waiting for the return of Mike Maignan, Maldini and Massara may begin to consider the possibility of signing a back-up goalkeeper of a higher level, bringing forward by six months a purchase that is scheduled for the summer.

We desperatelt need a playmaker/trequartista. Someone really good in Kaka style or Pirlo style. Also the right wing is weak. Also, Rebic will not play World Cup so he has full two months to learn how to receive and stop the ball beacuse he doesn’t seem to know how to do it without ball bouncing 5 meters away from him. Unbelievable! Why is he professional again??? And Tatarusanu is horrible. I am sure we would receive less goals if we just put any regular player who is not goalkeeper – on goal! Only Karius is worse then this guy. Very annoying 🙁
Honestly I think we need a world class RW more than a playmaker. This is because we already have two guys we’re trying to develop there and it’s too soon to give up on CDK. Diaz has a couple of good games and then fades out for four. He’ll be sent back to Madrid when his loan is over in the summer. Plus, I think the 4-2-3-1 is sort of starting to become a little doubtful. We played a couple of matches in the 4-3-3 and we did well. So if we spend a bunch of money on an AMC it will compel us to keep playing 4-2-3-1. If we get an RW we’ll have a threat on the opposite flank, can play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 and still give Diaz/CDK a change in the middle. RW is where it’s at. The question is who. Good attackers are not cheap to begin with and they’re even more expensive mid-season. The press keeps talking about Ziyech. On a 6 month loan with an option to buy I’ll take it.
We need an RW the most. We already have CDK and Diaz for AMC and there is no chance the club will spend another euro on this position after having spent 35m on CDK. Meanwhile, the 4-2-3-1 is starting to look a little tired. We tried 4-3-3 a couple of matches back and did reasonably well. Perhaps it’s time to try that formation more often and an RW will be more useful there than a trequartista. If we can have player even 50% of what Leao is on the right our attack will be exponentially better. Not sure who it would be, as good attackers tend to be expensive to begin with, and even more expensive in January (and perhaps even more so after a good showing at the WC). The rumors have always be Ziyech. Don’t know if that would be the best move for us at almost 30 years of age, but if he came on a 6 month loan with an option to buy I’d be interested due to the low risk/high reward potential for the second half of the season.
It just because the team is losing now, we’re gonna win the next 2 or 3 game they gonna forget about what they’re needing
I think it’s obvious Red Bird needs to spend money in January. Striker, CAM. Mid, CB. We could use more than a backup keeper and RW if we wanna keep up with Napoli. I want that second star! Forza Milan!
Besides reserve goalie and winger problems and lots of muscle injuries (why??), another problem is leao’s inconsistency. He is absent for long stretches of the game … true he then wakes up and scores but we can’t afford to play with 10 men for long time. Also CDK is still too timid for tough matches.
