MN: Milan moving closer to securing 34-year-old Chelsea man on free transfer

AC Milan appear to be moving closer to sealing the signing of Olivier Giroud from Chelsea, according to a report.

According to the latest from MilanNews, progress is being made on the Giroud front as Milan are determined to give Zlatan Ibrahimovic some support in the centre-forward department, and the Frenchman could replace Mario Mandzukic who will leave after a disappointing contribution.

The Chelsea striker will play in the Champions League final against City at the weekend and after that the operation could accelerate, with Milan keen on securing a player of experience on a free transfer.

It comes after Calciomercato.com reported last night that Giroud is getting ‘closer and closer’ to joining the Rossoneri as Milan have reached an agreement in principle with the entourage of the 34-year-old on the basis of a two-year deal at around €4m net per season. Giroud is also house shopping ahead of a possible move.
