MN: Milan must find back-up for crucial player after struggles this season

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are a different team when they do not have Ismael Bennacer available and that is something that the management are aiming to address in the summer, a report claims.

Bennacer has now been absent for almost a month and has missed the last four games, with his qualities in both the possession phase and the non-possession phase sorely missed given nobody in the current squad has the same characteristics.

According to MilanNews, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have a mission ahead of the summer which is to find a midfielder of a similar mould who can allow a smoother transition when the Algerian is not a available.

Of course, finding a player similar to Bennacer in level as well as his skill set will be far from easy but it feels obvious that Stefano Pioli has someone available who can take his place, rather than having to alter the instructions of the midfield.

That’s the point. And it’s not only something hard from a technical point of view: unfotunatelly it’ll probably be a VERY expensive affair too…

    1. wether if we get someone ready player or one with that potential, it will take time to assimilate to our team. we lost two seasons by letting kessie go an not replacing him this summer.

  2. we had Kessie already, fn idiots let him go overva a milli9n per year and an agent fee. they will have to spend multi millions in transfers then wait for that new player to integrate into our team. very poor and costly decision making
