MN: Milan’s four primary attacking targets with depth upfront a must

There are four strikers that AC Milan are looking very seriously at as they seek to ensure there are more goals in the team and there is less reliance on Olivier Giroud, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, the Rossoneri are focused on Lois Openda, Romelu Lukaku, Gianluca Scamacca and Alvaro Morata at this stage.

The fact that four names are in contention shows that no arrival is imminent in this area of the pitch, especially given the failed pursuit of Marcus Thuram.

Alvaro Morata: Morata is a favoured target in terms of his technical profile, and a renewal at Atletico Madrid could open up a loan deal with an obligation to buy. His €9 million salary is a problem, though.

Gianluca Scamacca: The Italian would be a great option but Milan favour a loan, whilst West Ham United are only entertaining an outright sale at this stage.

Lois Openda: The Belgian is arguably the best target given his age and profile, but €45-50m is needed. If Milan are serious about him, all they have to do is meet Lens’s valuation and the deal will be done.

Romelu Lukaku: There seems to be very little belief that a deal between Chelsea and Milan can be struck for Lukaku, but he is nonetheless an available striker in the market and were Milan to make a big sale other than Tonali, the door could open.
