MN: Probable Milan XI to face Liverpool – how the Rossoneri plan to replace Leao

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan squad trained at Milanello this morning and some clues have come about how they are likely to line up against Liverpool tomorrow night, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, the Rossoneri are currently likely to take to the field tomorrow with Mike Maignan in goal, Pierre Kalulu (favoured over Florenzi) at right-back, Fikayo Tomori and Alessio Romagnoli as the centre-backs and Theo Hernandez at left-back despite the fact the latter missed training today with a cold.

The double pivot should be Sandro Tonali and Franck Kessie with Tiemoue Bakayoko therefore dropping to the bench. The centre-forward will be Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and behind him Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunic are sure of a starting spot in the trident, while Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers are battling for the last place.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Tomori, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Kessie; Saelemaekers/Messias, Diaz, Krunic; Ibrahimovic.

  1. Will Theo be able to play? There were reports he was out sick today with a cold…

I think Krunic has been good in the past couple of games in terms of setting up play. This team is definitely feeling the injury plague, damn.

  2. The perfect excuse for Pioli to play Krunic again. I don’t understand Pioli’s love affair with Krunic. Milan need to win, which means they need to score. Messias needs to be in there on the right and they can play Saleamakers on the left.

    1. This is exactly what I think the coach should do. Why using Krunic that has lass pass and ball walk. He should use salaemaekers on the left wing and use junior messias on the right wing. Then let’s wait for luck to be on our side.

      1. we need krunic for defend, when theo overlap kessie fill in lb and krunic drop in kessie place
this team need balance, remember there salah in liverpool rw

        1. This is a must win game if we drew or lose we are out of champions league, we need goals messiah must start over krunic we don’t need to defend so we draw we need a WIN. what are we defending for

  3. Yes attack was better a year ago.

To be honest Leao not playing in most important game of season is weak. From reports it seems its just a muscle pain, he also had a lot of rest recently.
I do not like to judge this way but I think if it was Scholes, Gattuso – they would play.

  4. Sometimes we need to respect the technical choices made by the coach. Krunic is doing great. He may not be the stylish player you guys dream him to be but he is tactically discipline and deserves to play any day in this current squad. You guys wait till he scores the winner to send us to the knockout stage of the competition. Forza Milan, forza krunic.

  5. The worst in sports (soccer) is stupid fans that may played the sports or just kick the ball but no direction, no clinical purpose, tactics, coach or develop players etc. Experience is nothing if you are not hungry to win.
Lacy Lea, Romagnioli, Gabbia, Florenci, bakayoco, kessie, need to go for different reasons by summer or in a year. Darwin Nunez for CF 1st, 2ns LW. Hauge, Pogbeda, Adli, Farvie, Onana, Dialo and 15 gor milenkovic is good for now. Milan need to give more opportunities to younger players but they need to deliver also like Kalulu & Cutrone.
