MN: Milan pursuing a young centre-forward to avoid same mistakes from last season

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury situation has put the pressure on the management not to make the same mistakes as last season, a report claims.

According to the latest from MilanNews, Milan are looking for a young striker to be included in their squad to compliment Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud, who arrived this summer from Chelsea in a low-cost deal.

Ibrahimovic is currently still recovering from the knee surgery he underwent back in June and is continuing with his individual programme, but most sources believe that the Swede will not be back until after the first international break – so mid-September.

Regarding the pursuit of a young third striker – given Giroud will turn 35 next season – there have been no steps forward. Going into the new campaign with just Ibrahimovic and Giroud could be a strong risk, with so many games and the possibility of not having cover.

Between now and August 31 there is time to act, but the mistake of last year that resulted in the arrival of Mario Mandzukic must be avoided.
