MN: Milan targeting another midfielder amid AFCON worries – three options emerge

AC Milan are looking for another player in the defensive midfield department given the upcoming absence of Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer.

MilanNews writes that the Rossoneri management are doing everything possible not to replicate the unpleasant situations that occurred with Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, and want Kessie’s renewal sorted as soon as possible, because the Ivorian and the Algerian were one of the strong points of last season.

The duo will leave the club in January 2021 for the African Cup of Nations, so Sandro Tonali – signed a few days ago from Brescia – will have ample playing time. However, it means that another midfielder will arrive and the names currently being monitored are Nikola Vlasic, Tiémoué Bakayoko and the returning Tommaso Pobega.

The ideas of the Rossoneri management are to bolster the squad as much as possible to give Stefano Pioli two players in every position for his 4-2-3-1 ahead of a return to the Champions League.
