MN: Milan U23s to use two ‘home’ stadiums in first season – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s U23 team are likely to play at two different home stadiums next season, with a switch to occur after a few games as per a report.

It has been talked about for months, but AC Milan’s U23 team project really does seem set to materialise in view of the upcoming season. We provided answers to all of the frequently asked questions in a feature last night.

According to MilanNews, the official announcement of the registration of the Milan U23 TEAM will compete in Serie C starting next season is expected today. At 11am the Federal Council meeting began and they will outline the participants for 2024-25.

Ancona have failed to register and thus Milan are expected to take their spot, while the council will also underline the criteria for the composition of the groups – given Groups A, B and C are currently done geographically – which will then be announced tomorrow.

Where will the Rossoneri’s second team play? The report states that the first few home matches will be played at the Stadio Speroni in Busto Arsizio. However, that will just be a temporary home until the works on the Stadio Felice Chinetti in Solbiate Arno are completed.

When the necessary upgrades on the Solbiatese stadium – to bring it up to the standards required for Serie C – have been completed, Milan will move there. It has the added logistical advantage of being just a few kilometres from Milanello.
