MN: Milan’s interest in Marseille star is concrete – one thing could change Maldini’s plans

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are continuing to monitor the Florian Thauvin situation and they hope to sign him on a free transfer, according to a report.

Milan’s interest in Florian Thauvin has been well documented, and on Friday Maldini admitted during an interview with Telefoot that he is a profile the club are following. The 27-year-old winger then responded to the comments from Maldini and admitted to being flattered to learn of Milan’s interest.

Antonio Vitiello shed more light on the situation in his latest for MilanNews, claiming that Thauvin’s situation is being ‘monitored with great attention’.

The strategy is to take sign in June on a free transfer, so he is unlikely to leave Marseille in January as things stand, but the fate of Samu Castillejo could change things.

If attractive offers for Castillejo come in during January the club will consider them, and then they could use that money to secure his replacement immediately in Thauvin.
