MN: Milan’s probable XI vs. Torino – Pioli opts for continuity; still no place for Leao, Paqueta

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is set to opt for continuity for Monday night’s game against Torino at San Siro, a report claims.

After the draw in the Coppa Italia against Juventus, Milan return to league action where they will face the other team from the Piedmontese capital: Moreno Longo’s Torino.

The Granada are suffering somewhat of a crisis having lost their last five games in all competitions, but Pioli’s men must still be at the races in order to secure what would be a much needed home win.

The Milan boss will stick with the 4-2-3-1, MilanNews.it reports, with the following XI…

Defence

Gianluigi Donnarumma will start in goal and will be protected by a centre-back pairing of Simon Kjaer – preferred again over Mateo Musacchio – and captain Alessio Romagnoli.

At full-back, Davide Calabria will start on the right with Andrea Conti suspended, while on the left Theo Hernandez will get the nod once again.

Midfield

Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie will be in the engine room of the midfield once again, confirmed after recent performances plus the injuries to Lucas Biglia and Rade Krunic.

Meanwhile, Samu Castillejo will be on the right side with Ante Rebic – who has five goals in his last six appearances – will be on the left.

Attack

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will once again be the lone centre-forward, and he will be supported by Calhanoglu, preferred as the trequartista once again. That means no place for Rafael Leao and Lucas Paqueta.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Theo; Bennacer, Kessie, Castillejo; Calhanoglu; Rebic; Ibrahimovic.
