AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli and his coaching staff will have a lot of video analysing to do during the international break given the defensive struggles.
Milan won the Scudetto after keeping 9 clean sheets in their final 11 league games in 2021-22, conceding just twice, but this season so far they have let in 8 goals in the first 7 league games, with two coming in the defeat to Napoli last night.

MilanNews report that Pioli and his staff will spend part of the international break in front of the video screens to analyse the many individual and departmental errors that have led Milan to objectively let in too many goals.
Calm, confidence and a clear head will be needed to get back into the best possible rhythm once Serie A gets back underway. Milan are strong and they must be aware of their means, but they must ensure minimal lapses so they are not punished in such a severe manner.

This should be an easy one. Check the video and see who is in there when the defense is playing well and not conceding goals (Kjaer). And who’s not in there when the defense is conceding all the goals. (Kjaer).
Play Kjaer.
Tomori and Kalulu are too aggressive together and leave too much space in the back.
Did you miss last season? It’s not about being too aggressive, defending is about concentration. Now they’re champions, the defenders aren’t concentrating as attentively as they were. Tomori has been beaten on crosses in two big games, Inter and Napoli. He didn’t even jump! Man City and Liverpool have also defended badly this season. It’s not a personnel issue.
As you said, those whose head is in the game should play and those whose is not should be on the bench. ATM Kjaer gives us guarantees while the other two don’t.
It is absolutely a personnel issue. The defense gives up fewer opportunities when Kjaer is in there. And yes, Tomori and Kalulu are too aggressive and there spacing is poor. I don’t know if they have gotten more aggressive this season or if it’s just that they don’t have Kessie there to bail them out and cover up there flaws. And as you mentioned both Kalulu and Tomori are terrible at aerial duels and will give up a Bunche if goals that way. Whatever excuse you want to make for them the fact is they are conceding too many goals.
“Tomori and Kalulu are too aggressive” , I don’t there is anything wrong in being aggressive as a defender, what is not good is being too soft. Yea Kjaer is more laid back and could do the blocking while Tomori and Kalulu are better in swiping off the opponents before they get to the goal area.. The point is Pioli made 2 bad decisions if not 3 in a game, substituting Kjear for Kalulu, Calabria for Dest and bringing on Messias. While he could simply switch to 3 man defence.
Yea we learn from our mistakes and that can only make us better… Kalulu-Tomori has always been a pain in the ass for any attack… Regardless of their physical presence…but a second of loosing concentration could cause us a lot. We can only bounce back and forza milan.
