AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will once again be without star midfielder Ismael Bennacer for tomorrow’s game against Atalanta.
Bennacer has not been in action since 13 December against Parma, a match that ended 2-2 and saw him come off with a thigh problem that has so far taken five weeks to recover from.
According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Bennacer is very close to returning but is not quite ready yet. The Rossoneri No.4 expects to be there for the first match of the second half of the season; the away game against Bologna.
That means that the Algerian will therefore not be available for Saturday’s match (at 18:00) against Atalanta at San Siro, nor the Coppa Italia derby against Inter next Tuesday.
Thankfully, Pioli can count on Franck Kessie, Sandro Tonali and new signing Soualiho Meite in the midfield engine room until then, plus the returning Rade Krunic if needed.
