MN: Probable Milan XI to face Roma – Calhanoglu likely to recover as Pioli reverses changes

AC Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu appears to have made a quick recovery and is in line to start in Monday’s game against Roma, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, Calhanoglu will at the very least be available for a spot on the bench but the feeling is that he is well enough to start the game having recovered from a sprained ankle. Ante Rebic, however, will sit this one out.

After rotating the starting XI for the win against Celtic on Thursday, Stefano Pioli is set to change things back with Davide Calabria ready to return in place of Diogo Dalot.

Donnarumma will be in goal, Kjaer and Romagnoli the centre-back pairing and Theo Hernandez at left-back, plus a midfield double pivot of Kessie and Bennacer.

Saelemaekers is the favourite to start over Castillejo on the right wing, while in the centre it will be Calhanoglu and if not then Brahim Diaz. Leao looks set to start on the left wing with Zlatan Ibrahimovic up top.

The probable Rossoneri formation is as follows…

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Leao; Ibrahimovic.
