MN: Real Madrid forward back in fashion for Milan but he is not the No.1 target

By Oliver Fisher -

The name of Marco Asensio has once again re-entered AC Milan’s orbit as Paolo Maldini in particular is a big admirer of the Real Madrid man, a report claims.

MilanNews report that Asensio has long been a Milan transfer target and now he does not seem to want to renew his contract with Los Blancos which expires in June 2023. That means it is likely he will be sold this summer and Paolo Maldini is alert to the situation, aware that Asensio would be ideal for Stefano Pioli’s current team as he can play as a right winger and as a playmaker.

It will not be an easy pursuit because of the competition involved but Milan and Real Madrid will hold talks over Brahim Diaz and Asensio could come up in conversation. Real Madrid seem willing to sell for less than the €35-40m previously requested, but Charles De Ketelaere of Club Brugge remains the Rossoneri’s number one target for now..

Last season, the former Mallorca star made 42 appearances with 12 goals and 2 assists. In total, Asensio played 2,110 minutes and it must be seen how the situation develops.
