Sales will still be crucial for AC Milan in the upcoming summer window despite the fact Champions League qualification provides a revenue boost.
Pietro Mazzara writes in his column for MilanNews that is will be vital for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to sell players in order to add more funds to the budget so that they can go about filling the obvious gaps in the squad.

Quantifying the budget available is complicated at present but it is expected to be higher than last summer, which produced a €42.45m net spend and €56m total spent on signings.
Milan have struggled to sell players, perhaps because the squad lacks a ‘second band’ which is easier to sell to make cash and more easily replaceable than those in the first band, which is obviously the starters.
This is why Ante Rebic’s situation is one to watch, given he was left out due purely because of Stefano Pioli’s choice last night and not because of an injury. Divock Origi has offers in Turkey and the Premier League too, with his sale yielding a potential pure capital gain.
Then, Mazzara writes that Milan will look to sign a starting centre-forward to alternate with Giroud, a right winger who can score 10 goals, two box-to-box midfielders (Loftus-Cheek and Kamada the main suspects), a new deputy to Theo Hernandez, another striker to take Ibrahimovic’s place and a deputy to Leao should both Rebic and Origi be sold.

#redbirdout!
How can this Pietro Mazzara character even think of suggesting that Maldini and Massara should actually do their job and sell players so they could add funds to the transfer budget?
Doesn’t he know that M&M are special kind of directors whose job is only to spend money on buying bad players, let our good players leave for free and then whine, complain and play the victim to the media?
He must not know that Milan directors are the exception in world of football. Every other sporting director buys and sells players but not the infamous M&M. They only need to buy.
This Pietro Mazzara must not know how budgets works.
Yeah. It’s not like e.g. Juve who brought in the amazing Arhur and let’s Rabiot go for free would ever do as stupid things as our M&M, right? 😀 😀 😀
When you see, a person whose nickname is @Poli; You know that his IQ is 0! 🤣 He thinks he is Einstein among us..
Doesn’t he know that M&M are special kind of directors whose job is only to spend money on buying bad players, let our good players leave for free and then whine, complain and play the victim to the media?
So? Tonali, Bennacer, Giroud, Leao, Maignan, Theo etc, are bad players? Again it shows, your IQ.. No wonder, why a donkey is more smarter than you..
So, Milan won against juve and secured UCL spot.. Thee are no comments of yours on any of the posts regarding that.. I reckon you were upset lol
But SURPRISE SURPRISE.. here you are. LMFAO
You MUST be a REAL diehard Milan fan. LMFAO
He will say that Maldini paid, FIGC to dock points from Juventus, so that Milan can qualify for the Champions League.. Seriously, he hatred towards Maldini, is bigger than his love towards AC Milan! He would accept, Serie B as long as Maldini isn’t our director lol!
BTW I saw him, criticising our directors in one of the recent post after Juve win! His 90% comments revolves around Maldini..
Juve win=Win over Juventus..
Maldini banged his mom..he’s taking his frustrations out in the comments section
@Milan4lyf EXACTLY that!!! Nowhere after the team does something good that’s not related to Maldini and Massara, how the team is doing or anything else. He only lives to make negative comments about M&M, purely that alone
Lewandowski joined Bayern Munich for free.
Alaba joined Real Madrid for free..
Rudiger joined Real Madrid for free..
Pogba joined Juventus for free..
Christiansen joined Barcelona for free..
Messi joined PSG for free..
Ramos joined PSG for free..
FYI, if you think, only we have dumb directors, those who can’t sell players! While all other, clubs knows how to sell their players! I have given, you a list of valuable players, those who left on a free transfer.. And there will, be more this summer! But unfortunately, your little brain is too small to realise this.. I wish, if you spend this energy in real life, instead of whining here, just because you are unemployed!
What Pogba give to juve after return?
What Messi and Ramos give to P$G other than the same french titles they already won regularly without them?
What they have given, is other topic.. My point is that: valuable players leaving, on free transfer is nothing new.. You have only, cherry picked Pogba, Ramos and Messi from my comment! 😀 What’s about other players, i mentioned? 🤔
And a reminder of how many transfers go wrong each window.
What a waste of everyone’s time except the agents.
Yelnats, bro shirt sales alone for those players probably made up the ROI. Zlatan was also free from PSG to utd, Ballack to Chelsea, Thiago Silva to Chelsea, Cambiasso to Inter. Bro I can go on and on.
Please what about their salaries can Milan pay those guys you mentioned above
Yes. We have many options to sell players.
I would sell: Florenzi, Ballo Toure, Adli, Origi, Rebic, Messias.
Now problem is what is a fee that you can gain with these players. Problem is if players would accept offer. But I think they must, because there are no space for them to play anymore. It is better to put primavera players to play than mentioned above.
We could make at least 10m with those players
10 million is very small amount. We sold Hauge for 8 million last year.
Realistically: Florenzi 1 or 2 million, Adli above 5 million, Ballo Toure not more than 5 million, Origi upmost 10 million and rebic 7 to 10 million, Messias might be 7 million. So we could gain 35 million with sales of these players.
But still, when Milan buys, pays a lot. For 35 million we should bring Loftus and Openda combined in 35 million.
It depends on how quick you want those players to be sold
Uh oh, an article about transfer management…..we all know who’s gonna comment 😭😭😭
You are late.. He has already commented!🤣😭
I know hahaha I didn’t see it until I scrolled up lol 😂😂😆
The key really is to get the squad down to a manageable level and for Pioli to not rotate 8 players in one game.
We have a bigger squad than Man City and they lost to Southampton in the cup when they rested players.
No team on the planet can cope without most of their first team because a) the first team is by definition better and b) they actually play regularly and are therefore match ready.
One thing that is seemingly always overlooked is the will of the player to leave. It isn’t just up to the two clubs to buy and sell a given player. The player himself needs to be open to the transfer. I suspect some of these players will be reluctant to move. As an example, I doubt Origi would be interested in a transfer to Turkey, England maybe but he may want to prove himself before another transfer. Selling players isn’t as easy as we all make it seem.
Thank you!!
Not only that, but if you’re going to sell, it’s imperative that you have a buyer. That’s the first thing, and then the player in question has to agree to the switch.
If I remember correctly, we tried to sell Samu on a couple occasions and he refused and only left when his contract was up. Real tried to get rid of Bale for about three seasons and couldn’t, so it’s not as easy as some would suggest.
Don’t remind me of Samu – that was my painful. Hopefully we can get rid of our current deadwood easier than that dude sheesh.
