Italian goalkeeper Marco Sportiello is set to have his medical with AC Milan on Tuesday before he is officially announced as the club’s latest signing, a report claims.
As has been reported by Milan News, the former Atalanta goalkeeper will be at Casa Milan on Tuesday so that he can undergo the necessary fitness assessments.
He will become the first signing of the summer for Milan although his arrival at the club has been an open secret for many months.
He is joining to provide more depth in the goalkeeping department as Antonio Mirante and Ciprian Tatarusanu are both potentially going to be leaving the club in the summer.
Sportiello has been a solid Serie A goalkeeper for many seasons and had spells of starts for Atalanta last season when Juan Musso was suffering from injuries. The 31-year-old played 15 times for La Dea last season and kept two clean sheets.
Good. Now we have our starting goalie once we sell Maignon. The team is really starting to take shape…
I think Sportiello would be a backup for Tatarusanu.
Goodbye mike, thanks to you for the last two years with us. Now, the club priority is profit rather than our love for the club, because it is not good for soccer bussiness. 😀
I thought this deal was done and dusted. So this signing still needs to be announced. Please wake me once this mercato is over.
