MN: New signings start well but three more additions are eyed to complete Milan squad

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan management are enjoying seeing the new signings contribute on the field but they do not consider the squad to be complete, it is claimed.

Antonio Vitiello writes in his latest column for MilanNews that out of the 10 signings made in the summer, at least five are impacting games and results.

Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor are doing so with goals and assists, while Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are two midfielders who make a big difference, then there is Yunus Musah who is undoubtedly a very interesting signing and will grow even further.

Even Marco Sportiello was good when he played, but Stefano Pioli will now work on getting Samuel Chukwueze firing in order to involve all the players on whom a significant amount was spent.

Luke Romero and Marco Pellegrino were signings for the future and must be handled with care, while Luka Jovic is working to get to 100% in terms of physical condition and he has a ‘great desire for revenge’.

The squad will be ‘further strengthened’ in the coming transfer windows, Vitiello adds. The targets? A new striker (especially if Olivier Giroud doesn’t renew), a central defender and a left-back.

    1. Gabbia is not good enough bd he should be sold. He’s been at Milan in the senior squad long before Kalulu and Thiaw yet he is behind them in the pecking order.

Milan need someone stronger to compete with Tomori. When we lose Tomori our defense plays like sh!t.

Milan management will most likely target Scalvini from Atalanta. Who would be an excellent choice because he can also play as a DM.

      1. Gabbia always performed when called to action. I don’t remember him having any major howlers. And he always kept quiet with head down and worked hard. Really underappreciated and underrated player. And a milanista by heart.

  1. I hope they don’t renew Giroud. He’s done well but you can see him regressing fast. Let him go to MLS. he’s been good but time to move on.

  2. I think maybe a starting caliber defensive CM too. Bennacer has always been an injury risk and when he goes down we’re left with Krunic, who I don’t dislike as much as some people here, but he’s still not the starter I want if Bennacer is out for a long period.

    1. The expectation is for him to return before the window so if he hasn’t its possible they adjust but whether or not that is the cause…i don’t get the feeling the goal of selling a certain fan favorite has changed.

  3. I think personally better upgrade RB then wasting budget for just rotation player on LB ( bertesaghi enough as squad player) . More agile ,quick ,have good crossing for RB. Wasting money to buy CB not solution too, the problem are we dont have anchor midfield / pure DM , why not save money from buying CB and use it to pure DM , sell one player from krunic or bennacer( injury prone) to give room for new pure DM
