Modric discusses disappointment, belief in the new project and anticipation: "Hungry for redemption"

AC Milan confirmed Luka Modric’s renewal this evening and the midfielder has offered a few words to the fans.

Over the past few weeks, it has seemed increasingly likely that Modric was going to remain with Milan for another season. However, it wasn’t always like this. Indeed, before Ruben Amorim’s arrival, it seemed like he could head back to Real Madrid and hang up his boots.

A result of the Rossoneri not getting Champions League football was the fact that the Croatian probably wouldn’t renew, unless the project was worthwhile. Well, here we are.

The midfielder will spend another season with the club and then probably hang up his boots, hopefully alongside another trophy…

Modric’s words to the fans

In the renewal post, seen below, the Rossoneri attached a few words from the Croatian, considering he is currently on a well-deserved break after a long and difficult season.

I’m happy to stay at AC Milan, a club where I’ve felt welcome and loved since day one. After a year that fell short of expectations, I’m immensely hungry for redemption. A new season and a new challenge await us: a project I believe in and that motivates me.
