Moretto: Bologna closing in on loan deal for Milan midfielder – the details

Bologna are making progress towards loaning Tommaso Pobega from AC Milan in the final week of the transfer window.

As reported by Matteo Moretto on X, the Rossblu are keen on bringing the Italian midfielder to the club and have made positive contact with Milan during the week.

Pobega has been very open to the idea which has helped the speed of the negotiations. He would get the chance to play more regularly in a Champions League team.

The formula is expected to be a loan for a season with an option for Pobega to move permanently in the summer of 2025.

There is no guarantee that the move will become permanent, with Alexis Saelemaekers being a prime example as he spent last season on loan at Bologna but they didn’t exercise the purchase option as there was a change of coach.

Pobega has been deemed surplus to requirements at Milan with the midfield having swelled with the arrival of Youssouf Fofana.

Ismael Bennacer and Yacien Adli are also contenders to leave with no midfielders having been sold yet, but Manu Kone potentially arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach so there will be even less space.

Given the willingness of Pobega to move, it could be a simple transfer to conduct.
