Moretto: Milan and Besiktas agree deal over full-back but player says no

By Oliver Fisher -

Fode Ballo-Touré is looking for a new club this summer given that he is not part of AC Milan’s plans, and a move to Turkey could well be an option for him.

Ballo-Toure was sent out on loan to Fulham last season but failed to make much of a mark with the London club and they opted not to use their option to buy, which means that he has returned to Milan.

Even with the arrival of Paulo Fonseca it seems that Ballo-Toure is destined to leave the Rossoneri before the new season begins and a concrete suitor has come forward.

According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo (via Radio Rossonera) Milan have reached an agreement with Besiktas over the Senegal international, but he is not open to the destination at the moment.

There are also Premier League and Championship teams interested in the full-back, so at the moment the player would prefer to wait for the right opportunity to return to England.

In the meantime, Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirmed in his recent press conference that the ex-Monaco man – along with Divock Origi – have not been invited to train with the first team, a clear sign that it is in his best interests to move on.

    1. Not only does he have a low IQ in the field, but he also has a low IQ in business—another difficult player to offload.

      1. He has nothing to lose, he has an ongoing contract and will be paid either way, so why go to a place he doesn’t want to go to.

      2. It’s not difficult at all. His contract is up in 2025. He leaves this summer, or in January or next summer. End result is set in stone. The only question is when

    2. So why don’t we keep him as cover for LB.

He has actually played in Serie A including in the derby.

If we can’t sell him (which should be our priority) keep him as third choice behind Theo and Bartesaghi (or have we now also signed Jimenez?)….

Ok maybe he needs to go!

  1. One of the most unrealistic players I have ever seen. He thinks so highly of himself but his level is extremely low. I really can’t understand what Maldini could see in this clown when he brought him to Milan. In addition to the fact that he is a very weak and untalented player, he also has a lack of character and shame as he clings like a desperado to this contract even if it means not playing for several years. Shameless…
One of the completely missed transfers by Maldini who peaked playing exactly in the position where Maldini made his exceptional career which is all the more incomprehensible..

  2. He has everything to lose because he’s in the prime of his career and is running down a contract. He should be tying down a contract for the next 3-5 years so he can have longevity and not play in the Romanian championship at 29 lol.

  3. Neither him nor Origi are even playing at Futuro. They will literally be rotting on a bench somewhere collecting a paycheck…

I know Turkish league isn’t anything to write home about but isn’t it better to play with villagers than not at all?

  4. He and Orogi really think highly of themselves. Being benched most of the time at mid table english club didnt make them open their eyes.
For Origi, somehow I can understand why, because if you read comments from Liverpool’s fans on youtube, they sang him as hero due to his “contribution” during their UCL winning season. The problem is that, he scored in important match, just because being the right man at the right place to score, like that goal from corner kick from Alexandre-Arnold in semifinal. It was not Origi who asked for that pass, but Arnold’s decision to make a surprise quick pass, because Orogi looked surprised also, but luckily he managed to kick the ball to the goal.
Okay, that’s Origi, so what about Ballo-Toure? What makes him think so high about himself is still a big question for me.

    1. This management dont know how to offload a player.
They cannot show every where, but know clearly where the will of player is. They need to find the suitors or let them run down the contracts.

They can easily sell him to Ligue 1 clubs may not be 8m but atleast 4m. But the current management wait until last day by the hope of 12m in mind.

    2. Yes after the thousands of signings in the last 10 years most of which ended in failure how dare Maldini waste money on a sub-LB (having signed Theo who has basically solved that position for the past 4 years)?

More to the point what about the new management having dismantled our midfield last summer and now we’re needing to sign a midfielder…,

Where are we with the DM i.e. our number 1 priority?

      1. “Where are we with the DM i.e. our number 1 priority?”
Well we went for a midfielder who can defend but not a true DM (Fofana). Monaco wants 25M€ and we started the bid with….10M€, but don’t you dare worry, wE aLrEaDy HaVe ThE pLaYeR’s AgrEEmEnT.

  5. This guy is really not bright to dream about a return to England. The chances of that happening are basically zero. Turkey offers, most probable, a chance for regular time, something he has not enjoyed for two seasons. Anyway, this kid is the less of worries because he earns a low salary. Different scenario with Origi, of course…
