Barcelona are interested in a surprise move for AC Milan defender Mateo Musacchio, according to a report from Spain.
Musacchio’s game time at Milan has decreased over the last few months as he has fallen down the pecking order, and the player’s agent even gave interview during which he expressed frustration at the Rossoneri’s treatment of his client.
However, he may have an escape route, as Mundo Deportivo report that Barcelona are keen on signing the defender, who has a contract which expires in June 2021.
Koeman is looking for a new centre-back. and the newspaper has drawn up a long list of possible targets, including Musacchio but also Daniele Rugani of Juventus.
The Argentine represents a solid profile because he knows Spanish football and still has good qualities, however he is currently out injured so there may be more suitable profiles.
Given his contract situation though, it seems obvious that Milan would allow him to leave for a minimal fee.
