AC Milan and Arsenal are both pressing hard for the signing of Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca, according to a report from Spain.
The deep-lying midfielder has been one of the few bright spots for Espanyol in a season which saw them relegated back to the second tier of Spanish football.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo (via MilanNews), Roca is one of a number of midfield targets that Milan have in view of the summer transfer window.
With Espanyol relegated, the Barcelona-based club have decided that the Spaniard is among the prized pieces that they will be forced to sell in order to balance the books.
After an initial survey a few weeks ago, Milan are now pressing hard to sign the 23-year-old. The player has a release clause of €40million euros but inevitably the price will be lower given the situation of Espanyol.
In addition to Milan, the report adds that Premier League side Arsenal are also pressing hard.
