Musacchio: “They are three important points, we needed to win”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Matteo Musacchio has insisted that it was imperative for the Rossoneri to claim all three points at Parma.

The Rossoneri were the better team for large parts of Sunday’s game at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, but heading into the closing stages it looked like being yet another draw.

With just two minutes of normal time remaining though, Theo Hernandez reacted quickest after Luigi Sepe had parried Giacomo Bonaventura’s shot, firing the rebound in from close range in front of the 3,500 travelling fans.

Musacchio played a key role in the victory as he and captain Alessio Romagnoli kept things tight at the back, and after the game the Argentine spoke to Milan TV’s microphones.

“They are three important points, we needed to win. We deserved to win,” he said (via MilanNews.it).

“It was not easy, Parma has fast players up front. We all had a good game.”

Milan’s next game is a challenging trip to Bologna on Sunday night, with the Rossoneri looking to finally leap back into the top half of the table.

“We are playing well, but we did not get the results. Today it was fundamental to win, now let’s think about the next matches.”
