Musah admits desire to start more and to avenge Roma defeat: “We are Milan”

By Oliver Fisher -

Yunus Musah has admitted that there is a burning desire among the AC Milan squad to right the wrongs of Thursday night against Sassuolo this afternoon.

Following the disappointing mid-week defeat against Roma in the Europa League quarter-final first leg, Milan will have to shift focus to the league and the clash against a Sassuolo side that are battling for survival.

Milan had won seven games on the trot before taking on the Giallorossi but they were beaten 1-0 and now must engineer a comeback in the capital on Thursday.

Stefano Pioli perhaps has one eye on that game and has made seven changes to the line-up as a result, with the likes of Musah, Yacine Adli, Alessandro Florenzi, Samuel Chukwueze and Luka Jovic all getting a game.

Musah spoke on Milan TV in the build-up to kick-off in the game at the Mapei Stadium, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

How much desire is there to win after the defeat against Roma?

“A lot. We always want to win, we are Milan. Today we come here against a team that are fighting for survival. It will be a tough match but we will face it with maximum concentration.”

You will have the opportunity to play from the first minute…

“Nice to have the opportunity to play from the first minute. I want to do my best to make this happen more often.”
