GdS: Mutual understanding develops between Milan and Romagnoli as exit is likely

By Oliver Fisher -

While there is a lot of attention on Franck Kessie’s potential exit, Alessio Romagnoli could also leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) talks about the situation of the Rossoneri defender, whose deal with Milan will expire once the season is over meaning that his time with the Rossoneri could come to an end seven years after he joined from Roma back in 2015.

At the moment there are no signs of an agreement over a renewal, but on the contract the clues at the moment seem to suggest that the captain is more likely to leave and there is a mutual understanding between the parties about the way the road is currently going.

While Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara do not want to lose him on a free transfer, they already know that they are planning to build the defence around other players and that they could not guarantee Romagnoli a big salary, one that he might try to get elsewhere.

  1. It’s crazy to lose him on a free for 1-2m a year. Especially when replacing him will cost so much more. And also, Kjaer, great player but hes not young anymore and we don’t know how he will return after this long injury.

  2. It’s shame on us, if we can’t pay 3.5m for a captain of team like Milan.
I will have 2mins silence for all management and supporters(which includes myself) of Milan.
Every player have the good and bad days. There are many bad days for tomori/mike/Theo, but still we talk only about Romagnoli. This season he is equally best as tomori. Even very less mistakes than tomori.
