Sky: Napoli facing ‘sudden defensive emergency’ ahead of Milan game – four players out

The injury news has gone from bad to worse for Napoli on the eve of their game against AC Milan, with further absences confirmed.

Earlier today, it was reported by Corriere dello Sport that Antonio Conte will not just be without Alessandro Buongiorno for the trip to San Siro but also Amir Rrahmani. The latter has not yet fully recovered after sustaining a muscle issue on international duty.

Further issues

According to the latest from Sky (via MilanNews), a ‘sudden defensive emergency’ has gripped Napoli. In addition to Buongiorno – who was injured against Pisa – and Rrahmani, Conte will also have to do without Leonardo Spinazzola and Mathias Olivera.

The two full-backs didn’t leave with the rest of the squad for Milan. It remains to be seen what lineup Conte will field tomorrow night: there’s a chance we might see Sam Beukema, Luca Mariannucci and Miguel Gutierrez in the back four from minute one.

Sky report that Meret will be in goal with Di Lorenzo, Beukema, Juan Jesus and Gutierrez as the back four. Lobotka, Politano, Anguissa, De Bruyne, McTominay and Hojlund complete the side. As a reminder, Lukaku is also out after a muscle tear sustained a few weeks ago.
