It seems AC Milan are not the big pushers for a game in Australia, with the Serie A president admitting the game needs to be moved.
There has been a lot said about Milan and a possible game down under. Even Como, who would be the opposition in this clash, have turned their noses up to the idea, as you would expect, really. However, it has had little impact.

As of now, UEFA and FIFA stand in the way of a decision. The FIGC have already given the nod for things to proceed, and a decision was hoped for today. However, it has not arrived, with UEFA unable to reach an outcome.
Pleas from Serie A
Despite this, Ezio Simonelli has spoken to ANSA about the situation and pleaded with the organisation to allow the game to happen under ‘exceptional’ circumstances, as MilanNews relays.
“There’s a UEFA meeting today, I don’t know if the decision will be made today. I’ve made it clear that for us it’s a necessity, not a whim. In Milan, San Siro is closed from January 24th to February 14th, so that’s 20 days without games.
“The calendar is jammed, so we have no alternative stadiums near Milan with the capacity of San Siro. Faced with this need, and having also received a willingness from Australia, we asked UEFA, exceptionally, if this could be done. I remain confident in the decisions that will be made.”
As a reminder, the game cannot go ahead at San Siro due to the Olympics.

It’s ridiculous and BS. I already found a possible stadium. Bari is away to Mantova on Feb. 7. So why not play this Feb. 8 game in Bari’s stadium? All of this is BS. Lega Serie A are getting paid by whatever promoter in Australia is promoting this game, and that’s why they’re pushing this.
