A number of clubs have come forward to express an interest in signing Chaka Traore from AC Milan, while the management reportedly have a plan already.
Traore made his Serie A debut against Milan for Parma in the season they got relegated, and he joined the Rossoneri’s Primavera where he has racked up 13 goals and 7 assists in 35 games. He has been playing as a left winger for Ignazio Abate’s side, and received praise from his head coach: “He has above-average qualities and great physical gifts. He can score 20 goals a year.”
According to a report from Calciomercato.com, several Serie B teams – including SPAL – have asked Milan for information on the former Parma winger and more specifically the idea of signing him on loan for the rest of the season.
However, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara currently have a plan for the teenager: to keep him under Abate’s tutelage with the Primavera at least until the end of the season and then they will re-evaluate his future ahead of 2023-24.
He is 20, fine age for him to start pre season training with the first team.
I’ve been mentioning Traore in man articles about Leao. He is only 17 by the way. This is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because he’s got that much talent and is still only 17. A curse because I wish he was ready for first team action already, as he would be a perfect replacement for Leao when the latter is sold in the summer. But the potential for this succession at LW is clear. Perhaps the club can bite the bullet, give Leao the money he wants for a renewal and then sell him for top dollar in 2024 when Traore will be ready to step into a starting role. It would mean paying Leao 8-9m per season for only 1.5 seasons while increasing the potential to gain over 100m from his sale. Then in come Taore and the Leao money can be used to bring top players at 2-3 positions.
