AC Milan have officially announced that goalkeeper Antonio Mirante has extended his contract with the club for a further year.
There were some doubts about the goalkeeping department heading into the summer, given that both Mirante and Ciprian Tatarusanu had contracts set to expire at the end of June.
While the club confirmed that the latter was leaving the club after a two-year spell as the deputy to Mike Maignan, no announcement was made about Mirante and reports circulated suggesting that he would be renewing.
Now, a statement on the club’s official website has confirmed that Mirante has extended his contract for another season, with his new deal thus running until June 2024.
Mirante made only one appearance last season – his first at the club – which came during the final moments of the 3-1 victory against Hellas Verona at San Siro to end the campaign, and it was off the bench in an almost symbolic gesture.
Wow,
Italian players.
Ma che posibille
If I was about to retire I would sign a low contract and basically workout and chill for as many years as possible. Mirante is a smart man.
Yes, and he deserved it.
