Official: Castillejo diagnosed with hamstring strain after MRI scan – he will miss Lazio

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have announced that Samu Castillejo has suffered a lesion in his hamstring muscle and looks set to miss Saturday’s game against Lazio.

Castillejo limped off early on during the Rossoneri’s 2-2 draw against SPAL in what was a disastrous couple of minutes in the game for Stefano Pioli’s side.

Despite having all the early play, the home side took the lead when a corner came into the box and was not well dealt with, allowing Bryan Dabo to square to former Milan Primavera player Mattia Valoti, who bundled the ball home from the six-yard line.

It went from bad to worse for Milan when, almost straight from kick-off, Castillejo pulled up with a muscle problem and had to be replaced by Alexis Saelemaekers.

Now, the club have confirmed via their official website that the Spaniard has undergone an MRI scan which has revealed a low-grade lesion of his right femoral bicep muscle. He will undergo further evaluation in 7 days time.

That of course means he will miss tomorrow’s game against Lazio, and it remains to be seen if he is fit to face Juventus and Napoli in the two games after.
