Official: Crotone vs. Milan starting XIs – Pioli hands first starts to exciting young duo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has opted to give summer signings Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz their firsts starts for the club.

The Rossoneri will be looking to continue their perfect start to the season having won three out of three in all competitions, including a win in Monday’s Serie A opener against Bologna.

They face a newly-promoted Crotone side that were humbled by Genoa in Round 1, but they do so without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Leo Duarte – both of whom have Coronavirus – while defensive trio Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio and Andrea Conti will miss out.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is in goal protected by a back four of Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Matteo Gabbia and Theo Hernandez from right to left. Tonali gets his first start alongside Franck Kessie with Bennacer rested.

Brahim Diaz gets the nod on the right wing with Alexis Saelemaekers on the left. Hakan Calhanoglu is behind Ante Rebic.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Tonali; Diaz, Calhanoglu, Saelemaekers; Rebic.

Official Crotone XI (3-5-2): Cordaz; Magallan, Brown, Golemic; Pedro Pereira, Messias, Cigarini, Zanellato, Molina; Simy, Dragus.
