Official: Luka Romero completes move to UD Almeria on loan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Luka Romero has signed for UD Almeria on loan until the end of the 2023-24 campaign, it has been confirmed today.

Romero signed for Milan on a free transfer from Lazio and had a very promising preseason campaign, even scoring a goal against Real Madrid, but he has struggled since the season started.

With just 156 minutes on the pitch across all competitions, a loan move was reported as being a possibility as soon as the January window opened and now one has come to fruition.

On their official website, Almeria have confirmed that Romero has become their second signing in January, joining on a loan deal until the end of the current season.

It is a return to Spain for the teenager given he played in the lower age groups of Real Mallorca from 2012 to 2022 before he ended up becoming a Lazio player.

Today Romero signed his contract as an Almeria player – the club who are bottom of LaLiga – and has completed his first training session with his new team-mates.

The Rossoneri clearly believe in him, hence why they said no to Boca Juniors who wanted a longer loan and an option to buy because they wanted a dry loan.

    1. What’re you on about? Too small? Buddy, have you never watched the league? Look at guys like Insigne and Mertens, size meant nothing

      1. Guys like Insigne and Mertens are exceptions, not the rule. Size does mean something. The best players in the World are usually tall, not short. Messi was an anomaly, just as much of an anomaly as Maradona was. There is nothing remarkable about Romero.

  1. Hopefully a new manager is here when he returns so he can have a proper chance to shine. Never got a real opportunity under pioli…

    1. you blame pioli for not giving him a chance? I blame pioli for giving this lad an undeserving chance, which was sure to fail. He was never a messi…

No one can stop a real talented star from shining. Small talented footballers are able to craft their way into any any side. But this lad doesnt have the right mentality, the humility, nor the technical ability…

From the time i heard of his arrival, i said to myself….”why waste time with a lazio reject?” He wasnt good for lazio, so much so that they let him go free…. but pioli takes him with open arms…

This is Milan who once had a star studded starting 11 and a star studded bench….. milans standard is so low that they signed a lazio reject…. sad. It doesnt help the players who desire to play with real champions…. how does it help Reijnders to get better techinically and tactically around a lil lad name Romero? And a clown name pioli?

      Lets get real
