Official: Man Utd vs. Milan starting XIs – two changes from Verona win amid injury crisis

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has named his starting XI to take on Manchester United, with injuries having ravaged his squad once again.

Injuries to Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ante Rebic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Mandzukic mean that Pioli has named just a 19-man squad for the game, while Alessio Romagnoli also has a foot problem and won’t start and Sandro Tonali isn’t fit enough for a place in the line-up either.

Gianluigi Donnarumma will have a back four of Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Diogo Dalot in front of him. The midfield pairing should be Franck Kessie and Soualiho Meite, as even though Tonali remained on the bench in Verona, it appears he will not be risked. Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunic should act in the attacking trident behind centre-forward Rafael Leao.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Calabria, Tomori, Kjaer, Dalot; Meite, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Krunic; Leao.

Bench: A. Donnarumma, Tătărușanu, Gabbia, Kalulu, Castillejo, Tonali, Tonin.

Official Man Utd XI (4-2-3-1): Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Telles; Matic, McTominay; James, Fernandes, Martial; Greenwood.

Bench: Grant, Bishop, Lindelof, Shaw; Tuanzebe, Williams; Fred; Amad, Shoretire.
