Official: Milan Primavera forward El Hilali joins SC Cambuur on permanent deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan completed the sale of one of their young talents today as Youns El Hilali joined SC Cambuur on a permanent deal.

It was confirmed on the youth sector’s official Twitter account that Milan have allowed El Hilali to join Cambuur on a permanent deal, with the Rossoneri wishing Youns the best of luck for the continuation of his career.

Cambuur suffered relegation to the second division last season as they finished second-bottom in the Eredivisie but will be aiming for promotion back to the top flight at the first attempt, hoping El Hilali’s goals can fire them there too.

El Hilali (20) played mostly as a striker during the 2022-23 campaign and netted 15 goals and added four assists in 33 games.

He was a key part of the run to the UEFA Youth League semi-finals that Ignazio Abate’s side went on, but has chosen to depart for the prospect of immediate regular first team football.

There are no details regarding the transfer fee yet, but it will be a pure capital gain for Milan.

  1. I’m shocked by this. Whoever there was news of primavera he seemed to be a main protagonist. Saw some cracking goals as well. Can’t believe we’ve just sold him on

    1. He’s 20 years old playing in the Primavera, you have players like Romero at 18 and Rico Williams at city also 18 who’ve been playing first team football for years. It makes sense, if you aren’t good enough to make any first team at 20 then this happens. Did you forget our other “wonderkid” Hachim Mastour? He wasn’t even good enough.

  2. He’s attracted interest of a second division Dutch team… soooo…..how good was he really? Take off the Primavera coloured glasses for a bit and let me know if he’s actually that good. Chaka who played minutes in Serie A couldn’t even get into our team but we’re expecting exactly what from this guy? (Tho I think Pioli could use of these guys esp said Chaka)

  3. He’s 20, he’s older than Romero, if the hasn’t been good enough to make the jump by now I doubt he ever will. Colombo is only a year older than him but has already experienced Serie A, they were actually in the Primavera side at the same time. If you haven’t shown your steel in the first team by now then yes the club did the right thing. Cuenca, Chaka, Eletu, Romero are all young, Colombo has experience in Serie A, this guy has only ever played at youth level and he’s 20, Manchester City’s first team have players younger than him.
