Official: Milan vs. Hellas Verona starting XIs – Pioli makes five changes from Lille defeat

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has made five changes to his starting XI from the team that were beaten 3-0 by Lille on Thursday night.

After rotating for the game against the Ligue 1 high-flyers by bringing in Dalot, Tonali, Castillejo, Krunic and Brahim Diaz, Pioli has reverted to what most would consider his strongest XI.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is in goal protected by a back four of Davide Calabria as well as Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez.

The midfield double pivot of Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer will also be reunited, while Alexis Saelemaekers will be on the right wing with Hakan Calhanoglu down the middle and Rafael Leao wide on the left behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic, meaning Ante Rebic will start from the bench.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Bennacer, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Leao; Ibrahimovic.

Bench: A. Donnaruma, Tătărușanu, Conti, Dalot, Duarte, Gabbia, Castillejo, Díaz, Hauge, Krunić, Tonali, Rebić.

Official Hellas Verona XI (3-4-2-1): Silvestri; Ceccherini, Magnani, Lovato; Lazovic, Dawidowicz, Ilic, Dimarco; Zaccagni, Barak; Kalinic.

Bench: Borghetto, Berardi, Pandur, Udogie, Cetin, Tameze, Terracciano, Salcedo, Di Carmine, Cancellieri, Colley.
