Official: Pioli names 22-man squad for trip to Celtic – Conti returns; star duo missing as expected

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has named his 22-man squad for Thursday night’s trip to Scotland to face Celtic in the Europa League.

There are no huge surprises that the head coach has sprung, as we already knew that Hakan Calhanoglu and Ante Rebic would both miss out through injury, while Mateo Musacchio and Matteo Gabbia are also out – the latter with COVID which Leo Duarte has only just come back from and therefore is not yet ready.

It looks like there may well be chances for the likes of Brahim Diaz, Jens Petter Hauge and Sandro Tonali to impress at Celtic Park, at least based on what the papers are saying.

At the end of the final training session before the game at Milanello on Wednesday, Pioli released the squad list and it is as follows…

GOALKEEPERS
A. Donnarumma, G. Donnarumma, Tătărușanu.

DEFENDERS
Calabria, Conti, Dalot, Hernández, Kalulu, Kjær, Romagnoli.

MIDFIELDERS
Bennacer, Castillejo, Díaz, Hauge, Kessie, Krunić, Saelemaekers, Tonali.

FORWARDS
Colombo, Ibrahimović, Leão, Maldini.
