Noah Okafor is now ‘very close’ to leaving AC Milan after positive talks were held with RB Leipzig today over a loan operation, reports claim.

There have been a couple of developments on the Okafor front over the past 24 hours. Firstly, the forward returned to training with the rest of the squad having recovered from a muscle injury. Secondly, there have been negotiations over a potential exit, which have advanced.

According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Okafor is now on the verge of joining Leipzig. Today was an important and very positive day for the two clubs, who are close to an agreement over a loan with an option to buy for around €14m.

The Swiss international was ‘hesitant in recent days’ about the move but is now ‘in favour’ of it, which would see him rejoin the Red Bull world after his time at Salzburg. Noah would therefore leave Milan after 18 months in which he was almost always a reserve.

MilanNews are reporting that there is still no agreement, but the two managements have tried to reach a meeting point. Leipzig are looking to secure a buy-out clause at around €10-12m, while Milan are asking for €14-15m.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Okafor and his camp have agreed on personal terms with RB Leipzig. Talks are ongoing with Milan to agree on a loan with buy option until June, with salary fully covered by the Bundesliga side.

  1. shame it never worked out for him. He is talented but not a proper striker nor a classy winger capable of dethroning Leao and Pulisic. We’ll get our money back at least which is good. Hopefully he regains his confidence and can play regularly there.

  2. Wait wait – Redbird Lovers – wasn’t he supposed to replace Leao?????🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I like Okafor – good guy who loves the club – but he is what he is a BACKUP player. He was never a striker or a capable replacement for Leao, as some donkeys on this chat claimed he was; he has never scored more than 10 goals a season and was not even a starter for the Swiss national team. He is a solid backup player for a big team or starter for a smaller team. Nothing wrong with that.

We did however waste 14M on him and received minimal return in 2 years. Add him to the minimal list that includes: Pavlovic (20m) so far; Musah (21m) – so far; Chukuweze (28M), Morata (13m) Emerson (15m), Jovic Romero Pelligrino etc….that’s 100M without much to show for it.

    Best of luck Okafor

    1. What in the world are you on about? Who on earth ever said Okafor was supposed to replace Leao?
He’s a back-up. He was brought in to provide depth on the bench and honestly I thought he was good in that role. He came on late in games and scored some big goals for us.
I don’t get why Milan is getting rid of him. Unless they really are planning on bringing Rashford in.
You are never going to get someone of Leao’s caliber to come in and be a backup and only start once in a while. Not every signing is meant to be a starter. You need to have depth on the bench. Unless you are Man City There is always going to be a dropoff from the starters to the bench players, but I thought he did a good job in that role. I would keep him as long as he is ok being a backup.

      1. Who said that? bb, flyingturtle, and that idiot who has a red and black dots as his screen name.

I never minded having Okafor as a backup like you said, but those idiots were saying we should start him, and sell Rafa because Okafor was better than him. LOL.

It has surfaced today that Fonseca never talked to Rafa when he benched him for 3 games. Wasn’t even a man to explain to Rafa what he wanted. What a clown! He started Okafor instead of Rafa, Okafor then did strictly nothing and collected the lowest score from professional journalists, in those games.

I repeatedly said, Okafor is not a starter. He only does well when he comes in late as a supersub and defenders are tired. He doesn’t have 10% of Rafa’s athleticism and speed.

Fine to keep Okafor as a backup for depth. Not fine to start him. As of now, sending Okafor to RB Leipzig is not a big loss. Jimenez can do LW to back up Rafa.

I’m not worried about losing Okafor. I’m worried about who the clowns we have as managers will get next. I don’t think they understand the right priorities and the positions that need fixing, For example, RB.

        1. LOL. Go and find me a post where I have said something like that. Never happened. Just because you cannot stand someone says anything negative about your imaginary boyfriend you will attack them for anything. 😀

          1. And taking the Trump-way with #fakenews isn’t really a good look on anyone. Not even on the the Mario’s less-liked brother.

      1. Yes, many did. bb, flyingturtle, the guy with the red and black dots. The fact that you didn’t coincidentally read what they said, doesn’t mean that not a soul ever said it. You just missed what those idiots said.

        1. Poor Luigi… Why the angst? Why are you full of hate? Just because a couple of lads say something negative about Leao, you start a full hate-campaign on them with your #fakenews and made-up fairytales.

Where’s the proof? It’s easy to make up stories “he said this and that” but backing those claims is pretty darn hard WHEN THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN.

Idiots? LOL. Did you wet your bed again or why the language? I suggest taking your meds because it looks like you’re about to crack. Not a good look on you TBH. 🙂

    2. Where did you get this none sense information from? He was there to add depth and seemed like a good purchase since he could play as a st.
Why are we divided among fans? He is decent but not up to task.

    1. Yeah I’ve read €20mn in some reports, and €25mn in others.

Whatever the real figure, I hope he plays well enough in the coming months for them to pay it. I really liked the signing when it happened but for various reasons he never really cemented himself in the side.

To pay €15mn have a decent sub option and then sell him for a profit would be good business all round. All the best to Noah hope he has a solid career in Bundesliga.

Now as for rashford as the replacement… hmm I’m on the fence

      Forza Milan

  3. Option clause 25 million ?

Is that means they need to pay that amount to buy him?

It’s obvious that this going to be only loan untill end of summer. And Milan hoping to bring 1 stronger player for 6 months.

  4. All reports say now 20-25m option. That would be a great deal but it’s sad because at a point he was a super sub. He gets injured way too often to depend on his services and for that reason he should be sold. I wouldn’t mind chukwueze leaving too.

  5. Fans easily get frustrated with players so I don’t take too seriously what people say about how poor Okafor has been. Last we he was great for his role and even this season he’s often been lively. His last two games or so were bad and people couldn’t see beyond that. Smh.

I’m pretty sure that the directors at Leipzig are more competent than ours. A young player with good skills for the modern game (see why English and German clubs are eyeing him?). Well disciplined and hungry yet seemingly happy with a backup role. Not earning much. In short a perfect squad player.

But it’s better to distract with fixing what’s not the most necessary and send Okafor on a free loan! where if his injuries doesn’t improve, he’s anyway going to be back with us. If he keeps fit and manage consistent game time, he’s going to be much better and get signed for a fee no club is selling for nowadays for even 30 year old decent players with Okafor’s qualities.

They keep getting rid of them then watching them doing much better elsewhere.

  6. This is a position that Milan should pay attention to:
    1.Emerson=Rensch(Ajax),
    Salary per season:1,080,000$
    Lamptey(Brighton)
    Salary per season:1,820,000$
    Walker-Peters(Southampton)
    Salary per season:1,040,000$
    2.Tomori=Tah(Leverkusen),
    Salary per season:2,830,000$
    Boscagli(PSV)
    Salary per season:620,000$
    Gasiorowski(Valencia)
    Salary per season:200,000$
    3.Midfielder=TomBischof(Hoffenheim),
    Salary per season:140,000$
    Lucas Sanabria(Young talent in
    Uruguay)
    Salary per season:*Unknown*
I looked for the player’s salary on an authentic website. (m.airscore.com &
