SM: Origi fighting to save Milan career – summer sale possible with Ligue 1 side interested

Divock Origi is playing for his AC Milan future between now and the end of the season given he has failed to convince so far since his summer arrival.

Origi has struggled since he joined on a free transfer after his contract at Liverpool expired and while Stefano Pioli continues to use him – mostly off the bench – concrete answers are expected from the Belgian between now and June.

The Belgian was supposed to work alongside Olivier Giroud and allow Pioli to rest the 36-year-old from time to time and even potentially start over him in time, but now he seems to even be behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the hierarchy who is 41 and has been out for nine months.

As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it report, the period between now and the end of the season is ‘make or break’ for Origi and in the event that he fails to turn his fortunes around he would be put on the market.

Lyon are admirers of the former Lille striker, whose current value should be around €14-15m even despite the fact he arrived on a free and has not had the best of seasons.
