MN: Origi signing could change Milan’s plans regarding a big signing for the attack

The Milan management are studying how to improve the squad ahead of the 2022-23 season and they have a couple of strategies in mind.

MilanNews report that if Divock Origi were to arrive on a free transfer, it means that the original plans regarding the investments to be made in the summer have changed because initially the plan was to invest a big amount on a new starting centre-back and a striker.

Signing Origi on a free transfer would mean the funds expected to go on a centre-forward could then go to other areas and the main need is to balance the right wing with the left in terms of the threat posed, because Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias are struggling for end product.

Investing €5.6m to sign Messias permanently is not a given at the moment given the technical and economic assessments that must be made. In the 4-2-3-1 and the 4-3-3 systems, goals and assists are required from the wingers as Leao is showing.

Maldini and Massara will make their choice, but it seems as though there will be a big money signing in the attack, it’s just whether that goes on a striker or on a winger.
